Professional Journey

I have worked since I finished high school, despite living in a cultural context where that was not mainstream. I started, partially because I wanted to be independent and partially due to my strong desire to venture into the world beyond the university. I started by teaching English and working part-time as a sales assistant. I also worked as a researcher during all of my degrees because of my ingrained love of science. For a while, I worked as an account manager and business development specialist. I have also freelanced as a Business English Tutor and a marketing consultant.

In my diverse professional experience, there are some running themes.

  1. Research: In almost all my roles I have had to do research, either to uncover aspects of a phenomenon or find our next strategic partner.

  2. People: I have always loved engaging with the people that are behind businesses because the human experience is what inspires my desire to contribute to society with the tools I have.

  3. Problem-solving: I am an innate problem-solver and I believe that every hurdle, once narrowed down to a core question, can be resolved.

  4. Result-orientation: I have such a high need for closure and once a goal is defined, I have laser-focus to work toward it and bring the project to fruition.
